Inspirisan jedinstvenim oblikom i lokacijom sprata, Japanski arhitekta Satoru Hirota je dizajnirao jednoporodičan objekat koji se sastoji iz tri volumena koji podsećaju na tunele. Kako je odveć poznato, Japan je taj koji svojim dizajnom jednoporodičnih kuća dominira u svetu. Iako su veoma ograničeni sa prostorom, što je čest slučaj, njihova arhitektura je veoma napredna i funkcionalna.
Locirana u bivšoj poslovnoj četvrti Tokija, projektni zadatak je nalagao da se stara kuća obnovi kako bi klijent mogao opet da živi u objektu u kome je rođen i odrastao. Rezultat je objekat nazvan "Lik House", rezidencija koja podseća na odmaralište koje opušta i pruža visok stepen intime, s obzirom da se nalazi u zoni gde dominiraju niže spratne visine.
Kuća je projektovana u relativno mirnom okruženju gde je dizajnom stvoren balans između novoprojektovane kuće i objekata koji je okružuju. Stvorena su tri volumena koji su pozicionirani po obodu parcele stvarajući tako nepravilan središnji prostor namenjen dvorištu sa zasadom bambusa.
Svaki od ova tri duguljasta volumena je napravljen od 15 cm debelog betona i otvoren velikim staklenim panelima ka dvorištu. Ovom staklenom fasadom gubi se granica između enterijera i eksterijera i bašta sa bambusom se uvlači u enterijer i postaje njegov stalni element.
Iako se lokacija pruža na 295 metara kvadratnih, kuća zauzima samo 108 kvadrata. Sastoji se od ulaznog lobija, kuhinje sa vinskim podrumom i dnevne sobe. Ove prostorije smeštene su u glavnom volumenu, dok su privatne odaje kao što su spavaća soba sa kupatilom i garderoberom smeštene u drugim volumenima koji su povezani međusobno sa dugačkim hodnicima.
